Fact-Finding
Gathering the information that actually matters — spotting what a client hasn’t told you, reconciling contradictory answers, and knowing which figure to chase before anything gets recommended.
The simulations
Twenty-five case-based simulations across six competency domains, built on realistic UK client scenarios with current allowances, thresholds and rules. This is not another passive course. It is a simulation environment where learners practise applied tasks, receive structured feedback and build evidence of developing capability.
Six domains
Gathering the information that actually matters — spotting what a client hasn’t told you, reconciling contradictory answers, and knowing which figure to chase before anything gets recommended.
Separating attitude to risk from capacity for loss — including when a client’s stated appetite and their real financial position point in different directions.
Moving from a fact-find to an evidenced recommendation — including when the right advice departs from what the client asked for, and how to justify that departure.
Applying FCA COBS 9 and Consumer Duty to real client circumstances: tax wrappers, contribution limits, and the judgement calls between defensible options.
Producing suitability documentation that holds up — precise objectives, correct disclosures, and numbers that survive a compliance read.
Full client cases from first meeting to final recommendation — weighted 1.5× in the PCI because integrated work is the strongest evidence there is.
How a simulation works
Each simulation opens with a realistic scenario — income, assets, objectives, and the details clients don’t volunteer. The numbers are real 2026/27 figures, not placeholders.
Multiple tasks per simulation, each testing a genuine decision: which option is suitable, what the rule actually says, what a compliant report must include. Every answer comes with a full written rationale and the regulation behind it.
Completions feed your domain scores and PCI. Your latest attempt counts — not your best — and a cooldown stops instant retries, so the score reflects real ability rather than memorised answers.
Content you can rely on
Active simulations are version-controlled and reviewed against relevant UK rules and tax-year assumptions before publication. When rules change, content is re-verified. If we wouldn’t defend an answer to a compliance officer, it doesn’t go live.
What you won’t find
No inflated scenario counts. No “industry-recognised certificates” we haven’t earned the right to claim. No “thousands of learners” before there are thousands of learners. What the platform says about itself is what’s actually true, which is exactly the standard your future employers will hold your work to.
